The British Association of Dermatologists Biologic Interventions Register (BADBIR) is a national register of all patients receiving biologic therapy for the treatment of psoriasis in the United Kingdom. The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) has recommended that all patients in the UK receiving these new therapies for Psoriasis should be registered in BADBIR. BADBIR has grown to be the largest psoriasis study of its kind globally. It seeks to meet the objective of researching safety and effectiveness outcomes for patients exposed to new systemic treatments for psoriasis. Thus, BADBIR was, and always will be, a pharmacovigilance register.
Started in 2007, BADBIR now has >20,000 registrations and 140,000 patient years follow up. Data are held on 31 different systemic treatments for psoriasis.
