From our 38th country, read about the Namibia National Cancer Registry (NNCR) which started in 1995 by collecting all cancer cases from 1969 to 1994 reported to the Windhoek state pathology laboratory - the single existing private pathology laboratory. From 1995 onwards, NNCR commenced active registration of both pathology-based and clinical cases for four sentinel regions.
NNCR aims to provide a database of information that will ultimately lead to improved cancer prevention and control among the Namibian population.
