Our 284th profile is the Care Register for Health Care, a continuation of the Finnish National Hospital Discharge Register (FHDR). One of the oldest individual level hospital discharge registers covering all of Finland, the Care Register covers data from 1969 to present and has more comprehensive data on the use of services and service users than the original FHDR.

 

There are now 283 profiles listed in our resource! The Maccabi Healthcare Services (MHS) maintains several chronic disease registries that are updated automatically in real time from the central medical record. As of January 2017:

MHS Home Care Registry includes 57,199 members (20,528 active);

MHS Warfarin Treatment Registry includes 42,515 members (26,114 active); and

Our 279th and 280th profiles have just been added to B.R.I.D.G.E. TO DATA® - The National Longitudinal Mortality Study (NLMS) (USA), and Medicare (USA)

From our 38th country, read about the Namibia National Cancer Registry (NNCR) which started in 1995 by collecting all cancer cases from 1969 to 1994 reported to the Windhoek state pathology laboratory - the single existing private pathology laboratory. From 1995 onwards, NNCR commenced active registration of both pathology-based and clinical cases for four sentinel regions.

To aid our subscribers in their search for healthcare databases we consistently update the Glossary with field definitions and coding systems (including adding new terms like ICD-11 scheduled for 2018).

Established in 2012, the W5 Digital Insights (W5di) database is one of the largest health information networks in the US. The database has information on >220 million patients from all 50 US states. The data, which are updated multiple times a day and available within 48 hours of collection, come from a variety of sources including medical claims, pharmacy claims, lab orders, lab results, electronic remittance advice, and e-prescriptions.

Our 276th profile is the HealthCore Integrated Research Environment (HIRE) – Oncology (USA) database, which started in 2014 with the launch of the Cancer Care Quality Program (CCQP) by Anthem.  Data from the CCQP were integrated with the HealthCore Integrated Research Environment (HIRE), and is referred to as the HIRE-Oncology data.

Our 275th profile is the United States Wound Registry (USWR). USWR is a longitudinal, observational dataset of chronic wounds and ulcers treated at participating hospital-based outpatient wound centers. This unique dataset includes all wound and ulcer types, including those related to skin disorders such as scleroderma. Interventions captured in USWR include advanced dressings, compression bandaging, off-loading, cellular and/or tissue based therapies, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, negative pressure wound therapy, debridement, and antibiotics.

Established in 1997, the North American Antiepileptic Drug (AED) Pregnancy Registry is the first hospital-based registry established for pregnant women with the objective of obtaining and publishing information on the frequency of major congenital malformations among infants whose mothers had taken one or more AEDs to prevent seizures or to treat any other medical condition.
